I believe that, regardless of who wins the Oscar, when the history of the 2012 Academy Awards is written, it will be remembered as the beginning of a transition from the old guard (Meryl Streep, Glenn Close) of physical transformation and dialect work, to the new guard (Melissa Mccarthy, Octavia Spencer) of shitting in things.
